About the Founder

Built by analysts, for analysts.

22 years CI / pentest / software engineering · M.S. · Privately held · American-made

i2 Analyst's Notebook has been the de-facto analyst tool since 1990. It has passed through IBM, Harris Corporation, and now sits under a Canadian corporate parent (N. Harris Computer / Constellation Software). The product shows its age; the licensing does not.

MemoryJar is the work of one American analyst, started in 2026 — combining the rigor of structured notes with the clarity of visual mapping, extended with court-ready evidence chains, multi-domain jar types, and air-gapped operation.

Every case gets its own Jar. Fill it with data imports, research, records, notes. Your graph, your outline, your notes, your reports — all the same data, all in sync, all exportable. Put your Jars on the Shelf for your team. The data you produce stays in open file formats you control: JSON, JSON-LD, DOCX, PDF, ZIP, CSV.

“I built the tool I wished existed.”

The credo

  • Privacy-first, by default. Your data lives on your machine. We don't run a cloud, we don't collect telemetry from the desktop app, and we have no backdoor to your investigations. The only people who see your case file are you and the people you choose to share it with.
  • Built for protection, not predation. MemoryJar is for analysts working to defend people, organizations, and the public interest — investigators, intel professionals, protective details, fraud examiners, security teams. We will not knowingly license to entities using it to harm, surveil, or intimidate vulnerable people.
  • Open formats. Your data, your future. Everything you put in comes out as open formats — JSON, DOCX, PDF, CSV. If MemoryJar disappeared tomorrow, your work would survive in files that any tool can read.
  • American-built and accountable. One founder, one country of origin, one supply chain. You can email me. I'll reply.

What changes

Six problems you stop having.

/01

Stop rebuilding your case file in three different tools.

Graph, outline, and notes — all on the same data. Add an entity once; see it everywhere. Switch views as the case demands. The thing you wish XMind, your spreadsheet, and your Word doc would just be already.

/02

Point it at the data you already have.

Phone records, bank statements, network scans, mind maps, threaded discussions — drop the file in, get entities and relationships out. The first hour of every case used to be data entry. Now it's analysis.

/03

Your case never outgrows the tool.

Open a small case file. It feels fast. Open an enterprise-scale case file. It still feels fast. We figured out the rendering problem so you never have to think about it.

/04

When the case goes to court, your evidence is already prepared.

Verifiable, timestamped, classification-aware. Hand the package to opposing counsel; they can verify integrity themselves. Every claim in the report traces back to a recorded entity — automatically.

/05

Your data never leaves the machine.

Local-first. Air-gap capable on every platform. No phone-home, no telemetry, no surprise updates. Your investigation never transits a vendor cloud because we don't have one — and we never will.

/06

Team OSINT, on your network. Not in someone else's cloud.

Spin up a Team Shelf on your office LAN. Real-time collaboration on the same case file, presence indicators, permissions per analyst, full audit log. Your investigation never leaves your network — and you don't need to ask IT for a cloud waiver.

How it works

Three steps. No onboarding call required.

/1

Pick a jar

Eight purpose-built workspace types: Investigation, Case File, Mind Map, Workflow, Systems Architecture, Financial, CRM, Security. Each jar knows the entity types and fields your work needs — ~120 domain-specific attributes total.

/2

Fill it

Import from 11+ formats or build as you go. Rich notes with @mentions, attachments with SHA-256 chain of custody, classification markings, relationship mapping. Graph + outline views on the same data.

/3

Ship it

Generate analytical reports (HTML / DOCX / PDF), export Evidence Packages (ZIP with manifest + exhibits + reports), or share via LAN Team Shelf. Everything signed with SHA-256. Nothing ever touches our cloud.

vs the alternatives
