What it does

Five things you'll wish you had sooner.

/01

Import everything

CSV phone records, bank statements, Apple connection logs, Nmap scans, XMind mind maps, Reddit threads, SQL DDL, Docker Compose, OpenAPI, Prisma schemas, JSON round-trip. 11+ formats. Point it at your existing data, no re-typing.

/02

See connections

Graph view and outline view on the same data. Switch whenever. 12 layout algorithms tuned per workflow. Smart edge labels auto-generate as you add entities — 75+ relationship rules across eight purpose-built jar types.

/03

Scale that doesn't fall over

Handles graphs up to 20,000+ nodes via an optional WebGL renderer (manual ⚡ toggle). Heavy layouts (ForceAtlas2, community detection) run off the main thread in a Web Worker so the canvas stays interactive while large graphs compute.

/04

Court-ready out of the box

SHA-256 chain of custody on every attachment, auto-computed at attach time. Classification markings through TOP_SECRET. Evidence Package ZIP export with manifest + DOCX + PDF reports. Deterministic output — every report claim traces back to a recorded entity.

/05

Your data stays yours

Local-first architecture. Full air-gap capable on every platform. Optional Team Shelf runs on your LAN — your data never transits our cloud because we don't have one. No phone-home telemetry from the desktop app.

How it works

Three steps. No onboarding call required.

/1

Pick a jar

Eight purpose-built workspace types: Investigation, Case File, Mind Map, Workflow, Systems Architecture, Financial, CRM, Security. Each jar knows the entity types and fields your work needs — ~120 domain-specific attributes total.

/2

Fill it

Import from 11+ formats or build as you go. Rich notes with @mentions, attachments with SHA-256 chain of custody, classification markings, relationship mapping. Graph + outline views on the same data.

/3

Ship it

Generate analytical reports (HTML / DOCX / PDF), export Evidence Packages (ZIP with manifest + exhibits + reports), or share via LAN Team Shelf. Everything signed with SHA-256. Nothing ever touches our cloud.

vs the alternatives

Compared to what you're probably using.

About the Founder

Built by analysts, for analysts.

22 years CI / pentest / software engineering · M.S. · Privately held · American-made

i2 Analyst's Notebook has been the de-facto analyst tool since 1990. It has passed through IBM, Harris Corporation, and now sits under a Canadian corporate parent (N. Harris Computer / Constellation Software). The product shows its age; the licensing does not.

MemoryJar is the work of one American analyst, started in 2026 — inspired by CherryTree's structured notes and XMind's visual mapping, then extended with court-ready evidence chains, multi-domain jar types, and air-gapped operation.

Every case gets its own Jar. Fill it with data imports, research, records, notes. Your graph, your outline, your notes, your reports — all the same data, all in sync, all exportable. Put your Jars on the Shelf for your team. The data you produce stays in open file formats you control: JSON, JSON-LD, DOCX, PDF, ZIP, CSV.

“I built the tool I wished existed.”
